GC tennis sweeps Chatard

The Guerin Catholic boys tennis team improved its record in the Circle City Conference to 3-0 on by beating Roncalli 5-0 on Saturday.
All five of the No. 7-ranked Golden Eagles matches were won in straight sets. In singles, No. 1 Michael Wade won 6-3, 6-2, No. 2 Cole Metzger was victorious 6-0, 6-0 and No. 3 Michael Aikman won 6-3, 6-3. In doubles, No. 1 Wyatt Metzger and Jake Bratton swept through their match 6-0, 6-0 and No. 2 AJ Hacker and Shane Shuler were 6-1, 6-0.
“Michael Aikman continues to improve at No. 3 singles and Michael Wade played well against a solid Bryson Meek.” said coach Joe Lustig. “Cole Metzger has done very well as a freshman in a varsity position. We have our work cut out for us next week.”
Guerin will play at No. 1 Carmel on Tuesday, then play at Heritage Christian on Thursday to compete for the conference title.
