GC softball improves to 3-0

Guerin Catholic kept its perfect start going on Wednesday, sailing past Lafayette Jefferson 16-1 in a five-inning away game and running its record to 3-0.
The Golden Eagles scored in each of the first four innings, beginning with two runs in the first. Guerin Catholic added six runs in the second inning and four more in the third, that included back-to-back RBI doubles by Victoria Flores and Izzy Kemp. In the fifth inning, Flores singled in a run, Ana Macha stole home and Kemp hit a two-run home run.
Macha was 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring four runs and getting five stolen bases. Kirsten Mascari and Aliyah Dorsey both hit one double and were two of five GC players with two hits. Flores, Kemp and Alicia Flores also had two hits.
Kemp pitched all five innings, striking out 14.
