Guerin Catholic dropped a close game at Cathedral on Tuesday night, 28-27.
It was a defensive game throughout. The Golden Eagles led 1-0 after the first quarter; Natalie Fernandez scored the only point. Guerin led 9-8 at halftime, with Kathryn Loso scoring five points in the second period. The Irish tied the contest at 15-15 by the end of the third quarter, then edged out the Golden Eagles with a 13-point fourth period.
Loso scored 11 points to lead Guerin Catholic.
The Golden Eagles are 7-4; they picked up wins last weekend against Yorktown (32-25) on Friday and at Covenant Christian (38-17) on Saturday. Guerin Catholic will play its next game this Saturday at Tri-West.
