GC drops conference opener

Guerin Catholic dropped its Circle City Conference opener on Friday, falling on the road at Brebeuf Jesuit 42-14.
The Braves led 35-0 at halftime and added another touchdown in the third quarter. Brebeuf quarterback Nolan Buckman threw five touchdown passes in the game.
The Golden Eagles scored all of their points in the fourth quarter: Cooper Navarro made an eight-yard touchdown run, then Ryan Zimmerman punched the ball in from the one-yard line. Evan Guenther kicked both extra points. Justin Zdobylak led the rushing with 43 yards.
Guerin Catholic is 1-3 and returns to the Eagles Nest next Friday to play Roncalli in a conference game.
