GC boys beat Lions

Guerin Catholic overwhelmed Liberty Christian 81-44 in a Tuesday boys basketball game at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles were in control from the beginning, leading the Lions 17-6 after the first quarter and 44-17 at halftime. Guerin Catholic was led by Bernie McGuinness, who had an outstanding game with 34 points, including four 3-pointers, and five rebounds.
Kaleb Edwards also had a strong game, with 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Cameron Weitzel added 11 points, making three 3s. Matthew Gillis led the rebounds with six, while Kameron Osswald collected five. Joseph Bobilya handed out five assists.
The Golden Eagles are 12-4 and host Lafayette Central Catholic on Friday in a girls-boys doubleheader.
