Gail McKinley

December 5, 1939 – March 27, 2025

Gail McKinley, 85, Fishers, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on December 5, 1939, to Edward and June (Smithback) Szekely in Beloit, Wis.

Gail grew up in South Bend, Ind. She attended Indiana Academy and met her husband Kurt McKinley there. They were married for 66 years. Gail was a homemaker, and a 63-year member of the Glendale Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a volunteer for many organizations over the years and served on several boards. She served in many departments and capacities at her church and especially enjoyed her most recent role there as floral coordinator. Gail enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and sports, especially tennis, bowling, and golf.

She is survived by her husband, Kurt McKinley; daughters, Renee Copeland, Tamara (Bruce) Smith, and Michelle (Mark) Fogg; grandchildren, Brandon (Stacy), Patrick, Thomas, Zachary, Jacob, Seth (April), Luke (Andrea), and Joel; great-grandchildren, Cate and Ben; and sisters, Eve Parkhurst, Merri Mulkey, and Cheryl (Edward) Fuller.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at Glendale Seventy-day Adventist Church, 2900 E. 62nd St., Indianapolis.
