From TV to Kroger: What more could Halvorson WISH for?

Halvorson

This week’s episode of The Omnibus Show featured Eric Halvorson who spent 33 years as an anchor and reporter with WISH-TV and now serves as the Manager of Public Affairs for the Central Division of the Kroger Company.

Halvorson recounted his background in television at both Channel 4 and WISH-TV. He shared stories of his most memorable interviews, including one that stands out with Jim Morris who was with the World Food Program and worked with former U.S. President Barack Obama in the journey to feed the world.

Halvorson discussed how he came to be in his current position with Kroger as the Manager of Corporate Affairs. This position has given him the opportunity to expand on goals he discussed with Morris in that long-ago interview. One of his main focuses, currently, is the Zero Hunger, Zero Waste Program. The goal of this program is to eliminate hunger in Kroger communities.

He has also been a documentary producer for WFYI and adjunct professor for the University of Indianapolis. He started out as a reporter for WTTV, Channel 4.
