Update No. 151

As we close out the 2024-25 school year, we celebrate a year of remarkable achievement, growth, and history-making firsts. Our financial foundation is solid, our academic achievements continue to soar, and most importantly, our community remains united in its commitment to providing every child with the highest quality education.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and passion of our students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents, school board, and the unwavering support of our community. Your engagement has helped to shape an unforgettable year.

I am excited to share that Lori Hippensteel has been named the high school’s new Dean of Students. She steps into the role held by Mitch Street for more than a decade. Mitch moved into the role of Assistant Principal in April. As our high school media center specialist for nearly two decades, Lori is one of our most engaged and impactful educators. She is innovative, creative, passionate, thoughtful, and deeply connected with her students. In her new role, she becomes a key member of our high school leadership team working to foster a positive school culture, enhance student achievement, and ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all students. She is going to do amazing things in this role! Congratulations!

Speaking of ready, the Class of 2025 stands at the threshold of endless opportunities, having been shaped by the mentorship of educators, the guidance of families, and the friendships forged along the way.

Over the years, they have dreamed big, overcome challenges, and risen to meet new experiences that have prepared them for the next chapter. They leave behind memories of late-night study sessions, victories on the field, performances on the stage, and lasting memories – carrying with them the lessons that will guide them as they step into the future. They are ready!

This Saturday (May 31) beginning at 6 p.m. in the high school gymnasium, we will come together to honor this incredible class – to reflect on their journey and celebrate the possibilities ahead. We invite family, friends, and the entire community to join in this moment of pride and reflection as we send off the Class of 2025 with gratitude for the past, excitement for the present, and confidence in the brilliance they will bring to the world.

The ceremony will also be livestreamed and can be viewed here.

Thank you to the students who inspire us with their determination and potential, the families who walk alongside us in their children’s educational journey, the teachers and staff who dedicate their lives to the mission of public education, and the countless advocates throughout our community who uplift and champion our schools. Each of you plays a vital role in our story and success.
