Frederick William Pfau II

May 28, 1943 – November 25, 2024

Frederick William Pfau II, 81, Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 28, 1943, to Frederick and Kittie (Muhlenbeck) Pfau in Dearborn, Mich.

He was a University of Michigan alum, earning his MBA. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a salesman his entire life, most recently for Ace Hardware in Noblesville. Fred could sell anything to anyone and his family joked that he could “sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman wearing white gloves on a 90° day!” Fred loved his community and was a familiar face among many Noblesville small businesses. He considered himself truly blessed to call on customers well into his 80th year, and was almost always heard whistling while he worked.

Fred also enjoyed volunteering in many different capacities over the years including as an EMT, and at the VA Hospital in Ft. Wayne, which is where he met the love of his life, Jeanene. In recent years, he volunteered with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, the Hamilton County Tree Board and as an usher at Grace Church. Fred’s hobbies were boating, fishing, camping at state parks and, most recently, watching crime shows with his beloved dog, Zari. Most of all, Fred loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jeanene Pfau; children, Frederick William (Lora) Pfau III, Debbie (Chris) Harris, Tari (Chris) Klemme; stepchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Reuter, Laura (Roger) Bolender; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Barb Laprise; son, Adam Pfau; and his granddaughter, Cortney.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Fred’s family has entrusted his care to Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County.
