Franklin Central Flashes Showcase: Bates wins girls mile, Millers take girls 4×800 relay

Hamilton County distance runners dominated the Franklin Central Flashes Showcase distance race, which took place Friday night.
The centerpiece of the Showcase is the mile run, and Carmel’s Phoebe Bates won the girls race, clocking in with a time of 4:59.63. There were four heats of the mile, and the Greyhounds’ Lily McAndrews was the winner of the first heat, with Westfield’s Sophie Porter second.
In the boys mile, Fishers’ Ethan Meyer led the way with a sixth-place finish. Guerin Catholic’s Quinn Gallagher placed eighth. Noblesville won the girls 4×800 relay and Westfield was first in the boys 4×800 relay.
