Tony DeSare, Printing Partners Pops Series featured male vocalist for “Frank Sinatra and the Great Ladies of Song,” is unable to perform this weekend due to illness.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is pleased (and grateful) to its friend, Las Vegas headliner Frankie Moreno, who has agreed to step in for the Friday and Saturday performances. Moreno received rave reviews serving as host of the 2019 AES Indiana Yuletide and returned to Kroger Symphony on the Prairie this summer.
With 14 Top 10 albums (five No. 1’s), 50 Top 10 singles (45 No. 1’s), an Emmy nomination, and being named Las Vegas “Headliner of the Year” five times, Moreno is consistently breaking records and wowing audiences from coast to coast with his own brand of genre-blurring rock n’ roll.
As a child prodigy on the piano and a gifted multi-instrumentalist, Moreno was first introduced to American audiences at the age of 10 on CBS’s Star Search. He has continued to perform sold-out concerts including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl, and Vegas residencies and has collaborated with world-renowned artists like Joshua Bell, Placedo Domingo, Allison Krauss, and Chick Corea.
Moreno will perform with vocalist Capathia Jenkins, an American actress and singer. She is best known for her work as a Broadway performer, with roles in shows like Caroline, or Change, Newsies and Martin Short’s Fame Becomes Me. Her television credits include 30 Rock, The Practice, Law & Order and The Sopranos and has sung on the film soundtracks Nine, Chicago and Legally Blonde 2.
Performances begin at 8 p.m. both Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23. An abbreviated matinee of Coffee Pops begins at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22. Proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test are mandatory for all patrons over 12 years old; face masks are required by all audience members over the age of 2.
