Frank John Kriz

January 19, 1951 – January 31, 2025

Frank John Kriz of Noblesville passed away on January 31, 2025, at Copper Trace nursing home at the age of 74 surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on January 19, 1951, in Chicago, Ill., Frank was the son of Frank and Lillian (Ceferin) Kriz, who preceded him in death.

He dedicated his early career to serving others as both a firefighter and paramedic. His later pursuits led him into emergency management and he retired as a consultant for Homeland Security. His commitment to education was evident in the multiple master’s degrees he earned, including time spent studying in seminary. A devout Christian, Frank was always eager to share his faith with those around him.

Frank found joy in life’s simple pleasures, from playing solitaire to indulging in sweet desserts. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Cecil-Kriz; brother, John (Ursula) Kriz; twin daughters, Shawna (Patrick) and Johanna (Mario); grandchildren, Noah, Emily, and Gabriel; niece, Tracey (James); and several cousins.

Additionally, Frank embraced his role as parent and grandparent to Shirley’s three children, John, Donald, and Sunrise (Jason), as well as their children, Chelsea (David), Ryder, Sophia (Ryan), River, and Jacob. He was also blessed as a great-grandparent to Lily, Colton, and Hallie.

Frank’s legacy of service, faith, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those he leaves behind.

Memorial Services will be held at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main St., Carmel, on February 22, 2025, with visitation at 10 a.m. and memorial service at 11 a.m.
