Francis Joseph Pichler, 89, Fishers, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 25, 1933, to John and Emelia (Kettler) Pichler in Ambridge, Pa.
Frank graduated from Duquesne University in Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in business and was a businessman through and through. He proudly served in the United States Army. Frank retired from being the owner and operator of Anderson Fireplace Shoppe. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish of Geist Catholic Church. Frank enjoyed traveling, playing Pinochle, and playing singles tennis well into his 80s. He loved spending time with his family, especially time with all his grandchildren who lovingly called him granddad.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Charlotte Pichler; children, John (Sherry) Pichler, Elaine (Dale) Lester, Denise Pichler, and James (Debbie) Pichler; stepchildren, Cheryl Riwitis and Scott (Theresa) Heatherly; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife in 1992, Clara L. Pichler; and brother, Joseph Pichler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held with service at noon on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Private family burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson with Military Honors.
