Fox Prairie Golf Course is partnering with First Tee of Indiana to provide golf lessons and leagues for Junior Golfers. Noblesville will offer weekly golf sessions in June and July and a PGA Jr. League throughout summer break.
“First Tee of Indiana is a great program that helps introduce youth to the game of golf and we’re excited to offer the sessions at Fox Prairie for the third consecutive year,” said Noblesville Golf Director Gary Deakyne.
The weekly sessions for children ages 7-18 include a three-hole scramble at the end of each session. Cost is $115. Golfers under the age of 7 are accepted after meeting with our pro, Mary Rabb LPGA. Golf clubs will be provided for those who need them at no additional fee. Golf sessions include:
- Fox Prairie Session 1: 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. June 5; and 8 to 9:45 a.m. June 12, 19 and 26. The three-hole scramble will be held Friday, June 29.
- Fox Prairie Session 2: 7:45 to 9:45 a.m. July 2; and 8 to 9:45 a.m. July 9, 16 and 23. The three-hole scramble will be held Monday, July 30.
In addition to the two golf sessions, a PGA Jr. League is for children under the age of 13. The league will focus on sportsmanship, course management, rules and golf etiquette. This program is a great opportunity for kids to play on the course and learn the whole game in a non-stressful developmental environment.
League practice dates are 9 to 10 a.m. on June 4, 11 and 18 and July 3 and 17 at Fox Prairie Golf Course. The league includes six matches throughout the summer against other teams at different courses.
League registration will close on Monday, May 14 and the program will have a maximum of 14 players. Cost is $200 and includes practices/matches, uniforms and a gift.
