Hamilton Heights Middle School (HHMS) is electrified with excitement as four of its robotics teams – 214A, 214B, 214E, and 214F – gear up for the 2025 Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship this Saturday.

After securing their spots through impressive performances earlier this season, these talented students are taking their best to the state stage. This marks an incredible milestone as HHMS teams head to the state competition for the eighth consecutive year.

The powerhouse teams are guided by Head Coach Lacy Bowyer and Assistant Coach Chad Jung, whose leadership and passion fuel their success.

Known as the largest state robotics competition in the nation, the Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship will bring together the best teams from elementary, middle, and high schools across Indiana. Teams qualify by earning state-qualifying awards at local events, and HHMS has once again risen to the challenge with exceptional performances throughout the season.

“Our students are outstanding,” HHMS Robotics Teacher and Coach Lacy Bowyer. “They dedicate themselves daily and possess exceptional skills in what they do. They research effective strategies and continuously adjust to maintain their edge in competition. VEX Robotics is an incredible program that equips students with a wide range of skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.”

The Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship is set for this Saturday, March 22 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, 1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis. The event is free (entry donations accepted) and open to the public. The public is invited to show its support by helping cheer on the Hamilton Heights Middle School Robotics teams.
