The first day to file for local school boards brought four candidates to the elections office seeking election in the Nov. 6 general election.
There will be seats at stake in all six county school districts. The elections are non-partisan with winners taking office on Jan. 1, 2019.
Two current Carmel board members, Layla Spanenberg and Michael Kerschner, filed their candidacies Wednesday.
Hamilton Heights board member Arnett Cooper also declared his candidacy on the first day, as did Frank Whelan in the Hamilton Southeastern district.
Filing for a total of 18 seats in the county’s school corporations continues until noon on Friday, Aug. 24.
