Former DEA agent to speak at Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville

Christ Lutheran Church of Noblesville invites the community to a drug awareness event, which will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the church, 10055 E. 186th St., Noblesville. Former Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) Dennis Wichern will teach attendees what to look for and how to help those in need of guidance.

Wichern is a 30-year veteran of the DEA who formerly managed the Chicago Field Division and its 540 employees operating in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota.

Prior to his transfer to Chicago in late 2014, SAC Wichern oversaw statewide DEA operations in Indiana where he observed first-hand the deadly effects resulting from prescription drug abuse. It was during this period that SAC Wichern initiated partnerships with the medical community.

Wichern is a recognized expert on the dangers of heroin and the prescription drug epidemic and routinely speaks to healthcare providers.
