The Guerin Catholic football team dropped its second game of the season Saturday, falling at Brebeuf Jesuit 21-7 in a Circle City Conference game.
The Braves scored in the first quarter, with the Class 3A No. 9 Golden Eagles answering early in the second period. Luke Keller tossed a one-yard pass to Charles Bock in the end zone, and Thomas Kaser followed that up with an extra point kick.
But Brebeuf would score late in the quarter, then add another touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Braves allowed Guerin just 47 yards on the ground. Keller did have a good passing game, completing 13 of 23 attempts for 112 yards.
Korbin Lane made four catches for 31 yards. Kaser was the Golden Eagles’ leading rusher, with 55 yards in 18 carries.
The loss dropped Guerin Catholic to 0-2 in conference play and 5-2 overall. The Golden Eagles are back home on Friday, welcoming Bowman Academy from Gary into the Eagles’ Nest. Due to the time zone difference and travel considerations, kickoff for Friday’s game will be at 8 p.m.
