THE REPORTER

The 14 Gold volleyball team at The Academy Boiler Juniors won the AAU National Championship Saturday in the 14 Open Division at Orlando, Fla. This is the club’s fourth national championship and adds to an impressive list of accolades for the program. This is the second championship in a row for this squad as they won the 13s division in 2021.
Five Hamilton County players were part of the national championship team, and all five will begin their high school careers in the fall. Four are from Fishers – Madison Miles, Raegan Miles, Bre Morgan and Mia Walpole – and are incoming freshmen at Hamilton Southeastern. Noblesville’s Reese Resmer is also a member of the team and will be an incoming freshman at Noblesville High School this fall.
Along with an AAU National Championship, the girls have won many big tournaments this season including Bluegrass, JVA Summerfest, and the Windy City Qualifier.
The team is coached by John Shondell and Chandra Hepler. Shondell is the Associate Head Volleyball Coach at Purdue University. Chandra is a former division one player at the University of Missouri and is the current head coach at Warsaw High School.
Boilers Juniors is based in Lafayette and has some of the top teams not only in the state but in the country as well. This is not the end of the season for this team as they will head to the USA Volleyball Girls National Championship in Indianapolis where competition begins June 27.
