The Fishers wrestling team won an undefeated championship at the Avon Invitational on Saturday.
The Tigers beat Eastern Hancock 51-25, Perry Meridian 52-24, Avon 37-33, Scecina 45-30 and Columbus North 62-15 to claim the trophy. Three Fishers wrestlers finished the day with perfect 5-0 records: PJ Pritchett at 106 pounds, Mason McCartney at 170 and Nathan Pairitz at 285.
McCartney’s first-period pin over his opponent in the Avon match sealed the victory in that dual meet for Fishers, and for the championship trophy.
Dylan Parodi (120), Josh Thompson (126), Tyler Lindamood (145), Josh Reardon (152) and Preston Putzback (195) all had 4-1 records on the tournament.
The Tigers will wrestle at the Connersville Spartan Classic next weekend.
