Fishers wins tough one with Marauders

Fishers stayed unbeaten for the early part of the season with a tough 65-59 win over Mount Vernon Saturday night at the Tiger Den.
The Class 4A No. 6 Tigers led 20-16 after the first quarter, with Bryce Williams scoring seven points during that time. Six different players got a basket for Fishers in the second period, and the Tigers were up 32-27 at halftime. Fishers poured in another 20 points in the third quarter, helped out by 3-pointers from Sean Millsaps, Williams and Charlie Smith. The Tigers then clinched the game from the free-throw line in the fourth, going 5-of-6 in that period.
Williams finished the game with 18 points. Smith added 13 and Jeffrey Simmons scored 11.
Fishers is 4-0 and hosts Columbus North on Friday.
