A chilly Mudsock boys golf meet went to Fishers on Tuesday.
The Tigers won the annual competition, which took place at The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club. Fishers carded a team score of 158, while Hamilton Southeastern scored 176.
The Tigers’ Bryce Robertson and Nick Fisher were co-medalists, each shooting 39. Caleb Bopp and Shivom Patel both scored 40, Davey Acres carded a 42 and Noah Chamberlin had 43.
“It was really awesome for our kids to be able to win it for the first time in my five years being the head coach and for them to battle through the conditions tonight,” said Fishers coach Keith Andrews. “Not ideal mid-April to be playing golf in this kind of weather. So I was really proud of our kids with how they just stayed focused and played and made shots when they needed to.”
Sam Smith led the Royals with a 42, followed by Chandler Davis scoring a 43. Henry Fitzgerald carded a 45 while Daivic Akala, John Cherry and Mekheil Garcia all had 46s.
Also at The Hawthorns on Tuesday, Carmel won a three-team 18-hole match.
The Greyhounds carded 296 to Westfield’s 320 and Cathedral’s 324. Nick Dentino was the medalist with an even-par 72. Clay Stirsman and JD Dulin both had 74s, while Cole Harris posted a 76.
In the junior varsity match, Carmel scored 152 to Westfield’s 185 and Cathedral’s 189.
The Greyhounds’ Nick Katsis was the meet medalist with a 36, followed by Jack Crawford 37, Luke Prall 39, Sam Booth 40, Shoji Fujita 41 and Jackson Emerson 49.
