Dear Editor:
Election season is here. Municipal elections are the heart of our democracy where we the people can actually have a voice for positive change in our communities. I contend that responsible young people with energy, ideas, and oompf (!) must be involved in our democracy by stepping up into office.
The city of Fishers is fortunate to have an opportunity to elect such a leader in the Northeast District (6th district) on Nov. 7.
Samantha Chapman is a lawyer, policy maker, honest, and courageous leader who will work tirelessly for Fishers. She has shown leadership in her young roles as a clerk for the Indiana Court of Appeals, as a lawyer in a big law firm, as special counsel and business attorney for Secretary of State Connie Lawson, and throughout the state of Indiana (and beyond) passing legislation for the voiceless. She’s a relationship builder.
The political world is ugly, putting it mildly. Samantha is a moderate leader who puts politics aside. R or D, she is a solid individual who makes decisions after thorough consideration of all sides of the equation. She gets it that at the end of the day, we all have more in common than not. We care about our personal basic needs and want to be part of a community and world that strives to be better. She is a defender of democracy and of personal rights for all.
A vote for Chapman is a vote for progress in Fishers. Not politics. Not the status quo. Not the person who says it is their last term serving. Fishers doesn’t need more of the same old “experience.” 2023 and beyond calls for an energetic leader who puts out more than a newsletter, every few months, and says that’s “good.”
On Nov. 7, choose the better choice, your voice for the future of Fishers: Samantha Chapman.
