Fishers to honor local heroes at Veterans Day Ceremony

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Mayor Scott Fadness and city staff invite residents to a Veterans Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, 6 Municipal Drive.

This socially-distanced outdoor ceremony will include a warbird flyover; pin presentation; remarks from Mayor Fadness, local veterans, and keynote speaker Colonel Charles F. “Chuck” Bragg, IGR; and more.

This ceremony is free and open to the public. A livestream will be provided on the Fishers Magazine Facebook page.

In response to COVID-19, the City of Fishers is taking extra precaution to keep staff and guests safe by implementing the following procedures:

  • Practicing and encouraging social distancing with chairs spaced at least 10 feet apart.
  • Masks are mandatory for attendees ages 5 and up.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be located at the venue.
  • Guests are expected to adhere to social distancing guidelines and stay home if they are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

In conjunction with Veterans Day, the City of Fishers is debuting a new light pole banner program honoring local veterans and active duty servicemembers with banners on display around the downtown Nickel Plate District. Click here to meet some local heroes.

Residents can also purchase an Engraved Brick Paver, which will become a permanent addition to the Liberty Plaza walkway.
