The Fishers basketball teams swept past Franklin Central in a Friday Hoosier Crossroads Conference girls-boys doubleheader at the Tiger Den.
The Fishers girls, ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, overwhelmed the Flashes 69-21. The Tigers outscored Franklin Central in all four quarters, leading 38-6 at halftime.
Four players reached double figures, led by Joirdyn Smith, who threw in four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points. Ava Carter had 12 points, Olivia Smith added 11 points and Talia Harris scored 10 points.
In the boys game, Fishers used a big third quarter to beat Franklin Central 53-40. The teams were tied 21-21 at halftime, but the Tigers outscored FC 17-4 in the third quarter. Taden Metzger had 10 points in that period, including a pair of 3s.
Jalen Haralson led Fishers with 21 points, while Metzger scored 16, including three triples.
The Fishers girls finished conference play at 6-1, making them co-champions in the HCC. The Tigers are 20-2 overall and play Carmel Tuesday in the first round of the Noblesville sectional.
The Fishers boys are 3-2 in conference play and 10-8 overall. They travel to Westfield on Thursday for another HCC contest.
