Fishers sweeps at Southport Relays

Fishers swept the team titles at the Southport Relays on Saturday.

The Tigers girls team scored 127 points to win, while the Fishers boys were victorious with 124.5 points. Noblesville’s girls team placed third with 75 points, while the Miller boys took fifth by scoring 59.5.

In the girls meet, the Tigers won seven events, starting with the 4×1600 relay. Tamia Perryman paced the 100 dash, then Fishers placed first in the shuttle hurdles, the distance medley and the 4×800 relay.

The Tigers took two of the field event relays. Alison Casey and Claire Fletchall teamed up for a win in the pole vault relay, while Olivia Willmann and Kenadi Jumper combined for a win in the discus.

Noblesville’s girls won two relays. First was the 4×100 relay, which consisted of Grace Brisco, DeLaney Boles, Kailyn Ely and Shelby Tyler.

Tyler was also part of the winning high jump relay, teaming with Lili Wilhelm for the win. Tyler had the highest jump at 5 feet, 10 inches. She competed solo in the pole vault, but had the highest result there at 9-6.

In the boys meet, Fishers won six events. The Tigers took first in the 4×1600, then Ben Norton won the 100 dash. Norton also ran on Fishers’ first-place 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

The Tigers swept the throwing relays as well. Luke Martin and Tobias Hayden won the shot put, then Hayden joined Wyatt Puff to take the discus.

Noblesville finished first in the high jump relay. That team was Drew Herman and Christian Blaettner; Herman had the top jump of the day at 6-4.
