Fishers softball wins two at Logansport

Fishers won two games at the Logansport Invitational Saturday, starting with a 16-1 victory over Lowell in five innings.

Kendall Jordan doubled in a first-inning run, then the Tigers erupted for seven runs in the second inning. Brooke Clayton, Azstryd Alexander and Hailey Kinder all hit RBI doubles. Jordan smacked a right field triple in the third inning to score two runs, then Kate Murray hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

Alexander and Jordan were both 3-for-3 at the plate, while Frankie Jackson hit 3-for-4. Alexander scored four runs, with Rylee Bast scoring three. Jordan totaled three RBIs. Jackson went four innings for the pitching win.

Fishers beat the host Berries 3-2 in its second game. Logansport scored a run in the first inning and held that lead until the top of the fourth, when the Tigers put up two runs.

Kinder led off the inning with a double, then Adrianne Cook smacked a home run to give Fishers a 2-1 lead. Murray doubled in Kinder for a fifth-inning score.

Anna McGrath batted 3-for-3. Murray pitched a complete game, striking out 10.

The Tigers are 8-3 and play Monday at Lawrence North, then host Westfield on Tuesday. Fishers plays a Thursday game at Yorktown to finish the week.
