The Fishers softball team dropped two games on Saturday to Southern Indiana teams.
The Tigers first lost to Bloomington South 4-3. Both teams scored all of their runs in the third inning. Fishers’ Olivia Latimer started the top of the inning with a double, then moved to second when Karyn Trice drew a walk.
Kaylee Kardash reached on error to load the bases. That brought up Hannah Mays, and she sent Latimer and Trice home with a double. Later, a single by Abby Gavin scored Kardash. The Tigers now held a 3-0 lead, but the Panthers took over in the bottom of the third, grabbing the lead with a two-run home run.
Emily Walsh also hit a double for Fishers. Latimer and Trice both had two hits.
In their second game, the Tigers fell to Columbus East 6-3. The Olympians scored two runs in each of the first three innings for a 6-0 lead.
Fishers mounted a fierce comeback in the top of the seventh. Latimer hit a double to score Ashtin Grubb, then she was sent home when Kardash smacked a center field double. Kardash scored on an RBI hit from Mays to cut the score to 6-3, but that would be all.
Latimer, Kardash and Walsh all had two hits, with Latimer hitting two doubles and Kardash and Walsh both getting one.
