U.S. Air Force Veteran & realtor selected for 2022-2023 ILF
Tiffanie Ditlevson, Fishers resident and Air Force Veteran, has been selected for the 2022-2023 Class of the Indiana Leadership Forum (ILF).
In 1993, the ILF was founded by businessman Al Hubbard, political activist Roger Schmelzer, and community leader Joe Hale to prepare qualified individuals from across Indiana for civil service and to generate a greater understanding of the political process.
“Civil service is an extension of the public service my family has done for generations,” Ditlevson said. ”I will always raise my hand to serve my brothers and sisters in any capacity God sees fit by protecting, defending, and preserving our American values and institutions. My family’s military service dates back to the American Revolutionary War.”
Ditlevson is a 1996 graduate of the University of North Carolina and Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Major Ditlevson is a veteran of the Global War on Terror and deployed to Oman in May 2002 after the September 11 attacks in 2001. As a Squadron Commander, she was responsible for 125 airmen performing wartime feeding and beddown operations of multinational combat soldiers while overseeing the allocation of a $5 million budget to sustain “tent city.”
Now in its third decade of operation, the ILF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization dedicated to preparing Indiana’s most talented free enterprise, limited government-minded community and business leaders for greater civic involvement, public service, and leadership roles throughout the state.
Ditlevson has a long history of public service to Fishers and the Indianapolis area. She is Tiffanie and Company Realty Group powered by FC Tucker and recently named 2021 Rising Star and the company’s No. 1 New Agent. She currently co-chairs the Fishers Republican Party Club and serves on the board of Fishers One, a grassroots organization focused on empowering, informing, and educating Fishers residents on city and school board policies impacting the community.
Ditlevson is a graduate of the Senator Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series and the Inaugural Class of the Indiana Republican Party Diversity Leadership Series focused on increasing the presence and trajectory of potential minority political candidates in Indiana. In 2020, Tiffanie ran for Indiana State Senate for District 31 in a Republican caucus.
“It was an honor to be selected to join both the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network and to be a Project 21 Ambassador,” she said. “This is an initiative of the National Center for Public Policy Research.”
Ditlevson is the founding member of the City of Fishers Armed Forces Commission focused on growing patriotism in Fishers. In April 2022, she was appointed to Hamilton East Public Library Board by the Hamilton County Council. In addition, she is a long-standing member of Catholic Charities of Indianapolis Agency Council and serves as Vice President of the Council; she is newly appointed to the Indiana United Services Organization (USO) Board. She is an active member of Ernie Pyle Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 1120 and serves as the District 11 Chaplain. Previously, she was elected to and served three terms as President of the Parent Teach Organization at Fishers’ Geist Montessori School.
The ILF is a seminar series focused on government and political leadership. Classes meet once a month from November to June in the Indianapolis area. The course includes a class trip to Washington, D.C., in May. Participants could meet and interact with elected officials, as well as business and community leaders. The program culminates with a graduation luncheon in early late spring attended by families, colleagues, elected officials, and national leaders.
“I am passionate about ensuring Fishers remains a safe, prosperous, and vibrant community; I’m proud to help and serve in any capacity,” Ditlevson said. “Being a servant leader is near and dear to my heart; my family’s lineage includes military service dating back to and through the American Revolutionary War, Civil War, Buffalo Soldier Regiments, World War I and II, desegregating the Marine Corps, Korean War, Vietnam War, and my time in the Gulf War. I am a proud disabled veteran, living with reduced lung functioning due to particulate matter and toxin exposure while serving in the Gulf War.”
In 2007, she moved to Fishers to raise her daughter Micayla Love in a safe, thriving, and vibrant community. Micayla is currently in her fourth year of pre-med studies at Indiana University Bloomington.
