High school student recognized at exclusive international esports event

Last week, Esports Tower chose Fishers High School student Roger Chase to participate in the inaugural Esports Tower Summer Invitational.

Event organizers of this elite bootcamp style training and development event selected 56 out of 10,000 high potential teen players to attend an all-expense paid event held at the Boise State University Esports Arena. Invitees hail from the United States, Mexico, Canada, England, Wales, Norway, Sweden and Singapore.

“The vision of Esports Tower is to help kids level up in game and in life,” Esports Tower Founder and CEO David Adams said. “Just like traditional sports, not every gamer will go pro, but we believe every attendee at our Summer Invitational event could find a robust and rewarding career within esports. The global Esports Market was valued at USD 1.08 Billion in 2021, and it is expected to reach a value of USD 2.8 Billion by 2028. Our goal is to identify kids with a passion for gaming and expand their world view of the many robust career options available in esports.

Ten University Esports Directors from institutions across the United States provided next-level training focused around the Esports Tower Approach curriculum designed to improve the emotional intelligence of esports athletes. While a grueling schedule with nightly tournaments tested players’ stamina and game sense, daily team building and coaching talks with Collegiate Esports Directors helped broaden the teaming and communication skills of teens in attendance.

Tournaments from the event will air from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time throughout the summer on Esports Television’s (ESTV) global network and on Esports Tower Twitch channel. Additionally, organizers used this event to film a docuseries designed to demystify the misconceptions surrounding esports and varsity-level competitive gaming.

You can watch Chase play Overwatch each Tuesday night from 9 to 11 p.m. through the end of September. Click here to see the full programming schedule.

Roger Chase: Flank Master

Chase was honored with the Flank Master Award during the inaugural Summer Invitational Esports Awards on July 10. The event was hosted by Esports Tower CEO David Adam and Matthew “Burns” Potthoff, a retired competitive Call of Duty player.

“Roger, who we know in game as Ame, has set the standard for sportsmanship, strategic thinking and creativity in their gameplay,” Esports Tower Program Director Tony Baccaro said. “This award is a testament to the skill, hard work and grit of this high-potential player.”
