Fishers is Unified Track state runner-up

The Fishers Unified track and field team placed second at the IHSAA state meet, which took place Saturday at Ben Davis.
The Tigers scored 106 points at the meet, behind only Valparaiso’s 126 points. It’s the highest finish ever for the Fishers Unified team, and the second time that a Hamilton County school has been a runner-up. Noblesville took second in 2016.
The Tigers’ Luke Valerio finished first in Section 1 of the 100 dash and Flight 1 of the long jump. Hayden Lake placed first in Section 4 of the 100 dash, while Jacob Hay finished first in Flight 2 of the long jump. In the shot put, Andrew Barker was first in Flight 1 and Luke Asquini was first in Flight 4.
