EMS Division Chief Steve Davison said, “We are proud of FF Devine and Allen’s accomplishments in completing the intense year-long program. Their commitment helps insure that we continue to provide the best medical care to our patients. We are especially proud of FF Devine for receiving the Paul K. Joliff award for academic excellence.”

In addition to going to school for over 1,200 hours of classroom, clinical and precepted runs, firefighters continued to work full-time on 24-hour shifts. This is a grueling course that provides Fishers emergency responders the ability to initiate life saving techniques and medications to those with medical and traumatic emergencies.

The Fishers Fire Department staffs three transporting ambulances and six engines with paramedics. All of Fishers firefighters are either a paramedic or basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
