Fishers Fire recruits now fully-fledged firefighters

The Fishers Fire Department is proud to announce the completion of Recruit Class No. 30 probationary year. Recruit Class No. 30 included Adam Arnold, Thomas Crafton, Mark Davison, Kurt Globerger, Gage Goss, Evan Maher and Michael Schroll.

Firefighters were presented their new shields and given the accolade of being a first class firefighter.

The probationary year extends a year from their hiring date. After recruit class, the remaining six months is utilized with on the job training that enhances their skills in EMS, fire and rescue responses.

Fire Chief Steven Orusa said, “The caliber of these young firefighters is exemplary and to date they have shown a skill set inclusive of intelligence, creativity, and empathy to care for and protect the citizens of Fishers community.”

Upon successful completion of their probationary year, firefighters get bumped in pay and they are considered full fire merit employees under Indiana Statute.
