Fishers falls to Zionsville

Fishers was dealt a frustrating loss to open Hoosier Crossroads Conference play on Thursday, falling to Zionsville 3-2 at the Eagles’ field.

The Tigers scored both of their runs in the first inning. Jack Brown sent a double into right field, which Gavin Clayton followed up with his own right field double to score Brown. Clayton later got home on a passed ball.

Zionsville scored one run in the bottom of the first, and Fishers was able to hold the Eagles until the seventh inning. Zionsville tied the game with one out, then later stole home plate for the win.

Quinn Seefeldt was 2-for-2 at the plate, while Carson Dunn and Ben Hammond both hit one single, giving Fishers six hits on the night. Brown pitched six and a third innings, striking out seven.

The Tigers are 3-3 and host Zionsville at 6 p.m. tonight to finish the HCC series.
