Fishers Parks & Recreation and the Fishers Parks Foundation announced the donation of $63,000 from Steve Cage, a Fishers resident and entrepreneur. As an avid pickleball player, Cage’s donation will pay for the addition of two challenge courts at Cyntheanne Park, for intermediate and advanced players.
All eight courts at Cyntheanne Park will be renamed Cage Pickleball. Construction will begin this week and the courts are anticipated to open this fall.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to help expand the world-class amenities of Fishers, Indiana,” said Steve Cage. “Projects like Cage Pickleball at Cyntheanne Park will be a great resource for the residents of Fishers on their health and wellness journey.”
The Fishers Parks Foundation raised approximately $17,000 in additional funds during its pickleball court fundraising campaign. The largest portion of which came from an anonymous donor from Fishers. The Britton Falls Pickleball Club facilitated the fundraiser and its donation will be used to add landscaping, benches and other amenities at Cyntheanne Park’s pickleball courts.
“Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. due in part to its fun and inclusive nature and Fishers is no exception,” said Fishers Parks & Recreation Director Tony Elliot. “This generous donation will help respond to the demand in Fishers while adding to the diverse, all-ages recreational opportunities at Cyntheanne Park.”
