The Fishers girls basketball team dropped a 65-54 game to Evansville Central last Friday at Washington.
The Bears jumped out to a 23-7 lead after the first quarter and led 35-22 at halftime. Riley Schellhammer kept the Tigers in it with 12 points, including a pair of second-quarter 3-pointers. Evansville Central went up 51-30 after three periods and maintained a comfortable lead, even as Fishers outscored the Bears 24-14 in the fourth.
Schellhammer scored 23 points for the Tigers.
Fishers is 9-6 for the season. The Tigers will compete this weekend in the Grow the Game Shootout, which takes place in the Chicago area. Fishers plays Stevenson (Ill.) at 12:30 p.m. Friday at New Trier (Ill.), then takes on Arlington Heights (Ill.) at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago.
