Fishers Democrat Samantha Chapman wants all voters to have representative voice

Samantha Chapman received historic support from voters in Fishers securing her nomination as the Democratic candidate for the November city council election in District 6. She is a first-time candidate and launched her bid for city council earlier this year.

Chapman says her campaign is focused on connecting with her future constituents.

“I believe that our early community outreach efforts have given me a unique opportunity to learn what is most important to District 6 voters,” Chapman said. “It has been so exciting to reach out to voters and share with them that they have a choice on their ballot to represent their interests in the Fishers City Council.”

Chapman initially decided to run for Fishers City Council because she wanted voters to have a choice on the ballot.

“Democracy works best when all voices are heard and when voters have the ability to vote for someone who represents their voice,” Chapman said. “I believe the people of Fishers are excited and are making their voices clear – they want a choice, they want a candidate who represents them.”

Shelley Gupta, Chapman’s campaign manager, said this early show of support from the community shows the impact of Chapman’s campaign on Fishers.

“Samantha is so grateful for all the early support and voter turnout,” Gupta said. “We know that the people of Fishers are ready for a change and for a new voice to represent their interests with Fishers City Council.”
