Fishers traveled to Kokomo’s Championship Park Saturday to play in the Bullpen x Prep Baseball Indiana Series event. The Tigers beat Greenfield-Central 12-3.
Fishers scored three runs in the first inning and held the lead from there. Huston Dunn hit a solo home run, after which Carnahan and Ruggles smacked back-to-back doubles. Collin Herbert then sent a base hit into left field to score them both.
The Cougars scored two runs in the bottom of the first, but the Tigers responded with five runs in the second inning. Trevor Hall batted in Owen Lukac, then Carnahan’s center field hit brought Hall and Dunn home. Carnahan and Ruggles later scored when Hebert reached on an error.
Hall led off the fourth inning with a left field homer, giving Fishers a 9-3 lead. In the sixth inning, Dunn scored on Ruggles’ RBI groundout, Carnahan got home on a Mayo Fernandez base hit, then Letrell Robbins scored on Lukac’s RBI groundout.
Carnahan and Hall both were 3-for-5, with Carnahan hitting two doubles. Grant Wolf pitched three innings for the win, striking out three.
Fishers is 10-1 for the season. The Tigers host Center Grove on Monday, then play an HCC series with Westfield, traveling to the Shamrocks’ field on Thursday before hosting Westfield on Friday. Fishers plays two games Saturday at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette, taking on Twin Lakes and Lafayette Jefferson.
