Fishers Arts Council (FAC) has announced the addition of two new board members for 2025. They are Erica Foreman and Molly Hammer.
Foreman has a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in English Education from Purdue University. She has more than nine years of event planning and community engagement programming experience. She said she is particularly eager to leverage her background in event planning and public administration to enhance FAC’s outreach and impact.
Hammer and her family have been residents in Fishers for over 14 years. She grew up in Fort Wayne playing multiple instruments, preforming theatre and ballet, as well as visiting art museums around the world. She said she is looking forward to helping to bring more arts forward in the community by joining FAC’s board.
The addition of these new board members puts FAC in a strong position to continue its work supporting and promoting visual and performing arts in Fishers.
Executive Officers were also elected at the January annual meeting:
- Chris Hayes as President
- Ross Hilleary as Vice President
- Douglas Dusseau returns as Treasurer
- Susan Dickey as Secretary
Returning board members are Greg Dierfeldt, Pat Grabill, Tyna Green Seall, Olivia Harris, Tom Rich, Latrica Schooley, Laura Villanyi, and Amanda Wilhite. Les Reinhardt will continue to serve as Executive Director for 2025.
Hayes, a woodworker who joined the board in 2023, applied for FAC’s board “because two of Fishers’ best cultural ambassadors asked me to participate. I’ve known Les Reinhardt and Tom Rich for over five years and really like how they’ve helped show that Fishers has SO much more going on than sports and shopping. I also wanted to get involved with a community group that could help demonstrate that Fishers has all these hidden talents that needed to be showcased.”
As Hayes steps into the role of President, he looks forward to 2025.
“We’re really hoping to expand our reach in the community by being able to work with the great number of artists who reside here and haven’t had the opportunity,” he said. “Between the Veterans exhibit in November, the Hispanic Heritage Celebration in our second gallery space, to the High School scholarship awards we present in April, and art created by individuals who identify has having a disability, there is going to be an exhibit that features just about all walks of life.”
If you are interested in learning more about FAC and how to get involved, come to any Second Friday reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Art Gallery at City Hall, inside the Fishers Municipal Center, 1 Municipal Drive.
