Fishers Arts Council presents ‘Art of the Emerging Artist’ for December exhibit

Teresa Wesley’s Crochet Animals and Beautiful Venice by Somaja Louis are just two examples of works you will find in this month’s exhibit at The Art Gallery at City Hall in Fishers. (Art provided)

Fishers Arts Council (FAC) opened its December exhibit on Dec. 1 with a collection of paintings, pottery, jewelry, and crochet animals by a group of emerging artists. These are artists who are new to the art scene in Fishers but are definitely worthy of a gallery exhibit.

The exhibit is open weekdays, excluding holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 and will be free and open to the public. There will be approximately 60 works of 2D and 3D art on display during the exhibit.

In addition to visual arts, two local bands will be featured during the reception. From 6 to 7 p.m. Typical Summer will perform, and Frederic & Ronza from 7 to 8 p.m. Typical Summer is an Indianapolis-based duo featuring Cassandra Leigh on lead vocal/ukulele/keyboard and Toru Kikuchi on guitar/vocal. Frederic & Ronza, originally from Grand Rapids, Mich., moved to Indianapolis in 2019. A soul duo that brings forward strong harmonies, they perform original works and covers.

If you are interested in more information about FAC, please plan to attend the reception. Someone from FAC would be happy to talk to you about being a Board member, patron, or volunteer.
