The Fishers Arts Council held an awards ceremony for the winners of its second annual Juried Exhibit of Hamilton County Artists sponsored by Jiffy Lube of Indiana. The ceremony was held Sept. 10 at The Art Gallery at City Hall. Awards were presented to winners by Lonnie Hinkle, COO of Jiffy Lube of Indiana; Cori Drudge of Ruoff Mortgage; Melanie Allen of Green Loop Marketing; and Jocelyn Vare, Fishers City Councilor At Large.
The Jiffy Lube of Indiana Best in Show winner was Margot Bogue of Fishers for her painting, “Build Bridges, Not Walls.” Margot received a cash award of $800.
First Place Winner was Robert Bratton of Carmel for his painting, “You’ve Got to Know the Ropes.” Robert received a cash award of $600.
The Second Place Winner was Deborah Smith of Noblesville for her painting, “The Light Within.” She received a cash award of $450.
Third Place Winner was John Dierdorff of Fishers for his painting, “Spring Flowers Two.” He received a cash award of $300.
The Cori Drudge People’s Choice Award Online Winner was Mark Rouse of Fishers for his painting, “Elephant.” The In-Person Winner was Michelle Feeney of Fishers for her painting, “Birches at Dawn.” Both artists received a cash award of $50.
The exhibit remains on display at The Art Gallery at City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until the end of September. You can also see the exhibit Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon during the Fishers Summer Farmer Market, and online in a virtual gallery at fishersartscouncil.org/art-gallery-exhibit. Please remember that unless otherwise marked as “SOLD” or “NFS” (not for sale), all artwork is available for purchase.
It is intended that this juried exhibit will become an annual fundraiser for the arts organization. Artists pay a fee to enter and jurors review their works digitally before deciding if they can be part of the exhibit. Once selected, artists bring their art to the gallery where the jurors review the art in person and select winners based on their skill and presentation.
The Fishers Arts Council is excited to have Jiffy Lube of Indiana and Cori Drudge sponsor the 2022 exhibit.
