Hamilton Heights secured a top-two finish in the Hoosier Conference East Division standing on Tuesday by beating Lewis Cass 69-50 in a Tuesday home game.
The Huskies got out to an early advantage, leading 24-12 after the first quarter. Isaac Wilson helped out with eight points, including two 3-pointers, while Gus Etchison added six points. Both players then scored seven points each in the second period. Heights led 41-26 at halftime. The Huskies maintained their lead in the second half, holding a 56-41 after three quarters.
Etchison scored 25 points, one of three Heights players in double figures. Wilson finished the game with 18 points and four 3-pointers, while Lucas Letsinger drained three 3s on his way to 13 points. Etchison, Noah Linville and Wilson all collected four rebounds and Letsinger handed out five assists.
The Huskies are 3-1 in East Division play. Western is currently leading the division at 3-0 with one more game to play: The Panthers host Cass on Friday. Heights, meanwhile, is 11-3 overall and hosts Westfield on Friday in an all-county matchup.
