Friends and family gathered Sunday night to remember Schuyler Bradley, an IU student and Carmel High School graduate who was shot and killed last week in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

On Sunday, hundreds of people gathered at the Acacia fraternity at Indiana University, where Bradley was a member, for a candlelight vigil. Bradley’s fraternity brothers said that when he was shot, he was trying to break up an argument that escalated.
Bradley’s family describes him as a loving and loyal man. They said he was always there for anyone who needed him.
On Sunday, his mother spoke to the crowd through heartbreak.
“To see all of this love and my baby not know that everybody loves him. But I know and I know he knows and I thank all of you for being here, for supporting him and praying for him,” Bradley’s mother said. “I hope he is up there in peace. Throwing that football 75 yards and shooting that basketball – telling dad he is cheating. That is how he is going to live. And he is going to live pain-free with people you know and you love, loving each other.”
Bradley was a sophomore at IU, scheduled to graduate in 2023.
Police in Alabama said Zachary Profozich, 22, was arrested and is being charged with murder in the shooting.
