Fall Creek Township Trustee Doug Allman is seeking re-election. Prior to becoming the trustee, Doug was elected to serve on the Fall Creek Township Board. Doug and his wife, Shelly, have lived in the township for 32 years and their two children graduated from HSE schools.
Doug has been a Republican Precinct Committeeman for over a decade. He also served on the Fishers Plan Commission and was Chairman of the political action committee, City Yes, that advocated for Fishers to move from being a town to a city with a directly elected mayor.
As a township board member, he voted to reduce taxes and now, as a trustee, he has reduced costs, while increasing office hours, the food bank and other services offered to the community. Of the nine Hamilton County townships, only three rural townships have a lower property tax rate.
Doug says, “Thanks to a generous community, the township has been able to deliver efficient, yet compassionate assistance to those in need. We continue to work with county government, the City of Fishers, HSE Schools, churches, area not-for-profits, local businesses and the community to make Fishers a great place to live.”
Doug has a long history of commitment to our natural resources and wildlife, as he was awarded Conservationist of the Year in 1996 by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. He continues this passion with his top priority for his next term, which is to open to the public an 80-acre natural area the township owns along Fall Creek named Fall Creek Woods. This area will include scenic trails through mature woods and high bluffs that overlook Fall Creek. A canoe and kayak launch area is planned for the future as well. He hopes he is able to oversee and bring this beautiful area to the public during his next term.
