More than 25 percent of children who exhibit learning difficulties in the classroom are unable to see clearly.
That is why Eyemart Express, 8240 E. 96th St., Fishers, is helping local families stretch savings and prepare for the new school year with a back-to-school event on Saturday, Aug. 5. The retailer will give away vouchers for free pairs of kids’ glasses and provide free food from noon to 4 p.m.
The optical retailer is also offering deep discounts on glasses for the whole family. In addition, all glasses from Eyemart Express include a complimentary one-year frame warranty, covering breakages and adjustments.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, Aug. 12 with free vision screenings. Those who need an eye exam can easily make an appointment with Dr. Eric Nunemaker. His office is conveniently located inside of the Eyemart Express store.
Reading skills are the foundation for a child’s overall academic success, according to the National Center on Improving Literacy. That is why the Hamilton East Public Library will also be onsite starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12 to help sign kids and parents up for library cards, a story time, and play games.
“The ability to see clearly is fundamental for learning and comprehension,” says James Talbott, general manager of Eyemart Express in Fishers. “Our goal is to ensure kids are set up to be successful and feel confident in the classroom with their new glasses.”
Eyemart Express also offers exclusive discounts for teachers and school staff to start the school year with healthy eyes. The optical retailer is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Eyemart Express is closed on Sunday.
