The Defiant Requiem: A Tribute to Courage and Resistance in Advance of Yom HaShoah May Remembrance Day
In partnership with Beth-El Zedeck, CSO’s April 13 concert this year will honor the incredible story of the performance of Verdi’s Requiem at the Nazi workcamp Terezín.
A tribute to the courage of Jewish prisoners during World War II, who performed the Requiem in the face of unimaginable conditions, the story of the Requiem at Terezín shares a message of courage and resilience nurtured through expression in music. This event will be remembered at the opening of the concert evening.
