Evelyn Coverdale, 85, Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. She was born on November 3, 1936 to Marvin and Edna (Evans) Coverdale in Hamilton County.
Evelyn attended Noblesville Schools until she was 18. The classes of 1955, 1956 and 1957 all claimed her as their own. She worked for Janus Services, but found her calling as one of the original employees of Originals by Deb where she sanded spoons before retiring. Evelyn was featured in the book “Spoon Lady” by Deb Wofford. Evelyn was a member of Hamilton County 4-H and won a blue ribbon for her canned peaches. She was a member of the First Friends Church of Noblesville and Sunshine Friends at Noblesville First UMC. Evelyn was honored by Evan Bayh at the Capitol as a member of “Debbie’s Kids.” She loved Disney, beaches, fishing, Miller basketball, making cookies, doing puzzles and holding babies. Evelyn was a treasure to her family and all who knew her. She spread joy and lived her life well.
Evelyn is survived by her brothers, Robert E. (Ruth) Coverdale, Richard Coverdale, and Edgar (Jessie) Coverdale; nieces, Rebecca (Brian) Harger and Elizabeth (Jim) Wilson; nephews, Ronald (Dawn) Coverdale, Kipp Coverdale, Danny (Lynne) Coverdale, Andrew (Milli) Coverdale, and Brad (Melissa) Coverdale; six great-nephews; five great-nieces; and two great-greats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Sally Hale Coverdale.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10 a.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, with Pastor Katherine Murray officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
The family would like to thank the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin for the 12 years of excellent care they gave Evelyn.
