Elisabeth Roman, 90, formerly of LaPorte, Ind., passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville.

She was born Elisabeth Gertrud Christa Klunker to Edgar and Dorothea (Seidel) Klunker on December 25, 1928, in Dresden, Germany.

She had a deep love of nature and watching birds, which she passed on to her children and grandsons. Her membership in the LaPorte County Audobon Society gave her great friendships and much joy. She will always be remembered for her kind open heart and her beautiful smile.

She is survived by daughters: Christina Roman Sorensen (husband, Kurt), Noblesville, and Dorothy Roman Mathiesen (husband, Tom), Parker, Colo.; son: Harold Roman, Acton, Mass.; and five grandsons, Scott and Trevor Sorensen, Crested Butte, Colo.; Kris Roman, Acton, Mass., and Ryan and Kyle Mathiesen, Parker, Colo.
