Dr. Hoover, who has served as the district’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction since 2022, will step into this expanded leadership role as Dr. John Atha transitions to the role of Superintendent.
Dr. Hoover brings over 27 years of experience in education, instructional leadership, and school administration to his new position. A passionate advocate for student success, innovation in learning, and fostering collaborative environments for educators, Dr. Hoover has been instrumental in shaping Westfield Washington Schools’ PreK-12 learning programs.
“We are thrilled to announce Dr. Hoover’s promotion,” Dr. Atha said. “His dedication to collaboration, innovative practices, and student-centered learning has significantly impacted our district. Dr. Hoover’s leadership has already helped elevate the quality of education in Westfield, and we look forward to seeing him continue to shape the future of our schools.”

He later served as Assistant Principal and Principal at Eagle Elementary in Brownsburg for 16 years, focusing on academic achievement and building a strong school culture.
Since joining Westfield Washington Schools, Dr. Hoover has led the district’s instructional coaching team, providing support, professional development, and resources to teachers district-wide.
“I am honored to step into this new role and continue serving Westfield’s students, educators, and families,” Dr. Hoover said. “I am committed to fostering an environment where educators can thrive, and our students receive the highest quality education that prepares them for success in life.”
In addition to his work in education, Dr. Hoover is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP), ASCD, and the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO). He holds a Doctorate in Education from Ball State University and remains dedicated to lifelong learning and professional development.
