Douglas M. Buck, 94, Carmel, passed away February 16, 2018. He was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on July 3, 1923, son of John and Snow Jones Buck.
Doug was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Naval Air Corps where he was a Bombadier instructor in the use of the Norden Bombsight. Doug was employed as a Captain with the Indiana State Police. He also was head of Questioned Documents and Director of the Crime Lab.
Memberships include Nora Kiwanis, Carmel Clay Kiwanis and the Indianapolis Canoe Club.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou and great-granddaughter, Grace Marie.
Survivors include son, Jeff (Julie) Buck; daughter, Polly (Bret) Marsh; grandchildren, Sarah (Derek), Anna, Elizabeth (Michael), Daniel, Spencer and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Joshua.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Union Chapel United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to service at 10 a.m. in the church.
